April 29th is International Dance Day, an annual celebration of how dancing positively affects our lives. Waters played several “dance” tunes this morning including Loggins & Messina with “Your Mama Don’t Dance”, so how about the Poison remake for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45.
The Loggins & Messina version of the song was a #4 hit for the duo in 1972 and “Your Mama Don’t Dance” was also a hit for Poison in 1989. The song appears on their 5 times platinum album “Open Up and Say Ahhh” which features their only #1 hit “Every Rose Has It’s Thorn”. “Your Mama Don’t Dance” went to #10 and became the 6th of their 10 top 40 hits.
