Tax Day Forgotten 45: Cyndi Lauper

By Jeff Winfield Apr 15, 2025 | 3:43 PM

Since 1955 Tax Day has fallen on or around April 15th, that would be today.  So for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 how about some Cyndi Lauper with “Money Changes Everything”.

According to a recent study as many as a third of all Americans wait until the last minute to file their taxes, so time is running out!  Today’s Forgotten 45 was originally released in 1980 by a group called “The Brains”, but it was Cyndi Lauper’s 1984 version of “Money Changes Everything” that made the charts.

From her classic album “She’s So Unusual”, Cyndi was the first female artist to have 4 top 5 songs from the same album (“Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”, “Time After Time”, “She Bop”, and “All Through The Night”.  “Money Changes Everything” also charted and peaked at #27.

As you wave goodbye to your hard earned $$, it’s Cyndi Lauper with a Tax Day Forgotten 45 “Money Changes Everything”.
