Throwback Thursday Forgotten 45: 1978

By Jeff Winfield Apr 3, 2025 | 3:43 PM

This Saturday morning at 9 105.7 KOKZ brings you another classic American Top 40 show from the 70’s.  Casey Kasem puts the spotlight on the top songs from April 8th, 1978 and today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is one of the songs you’ll hear on the countdown from Paul McCartney & Wings “With a Little Luck”.

The song was recorded in May of 1977 on a boat called Fair Carol.  They were sailing in the Virgin Islands and this vessel was equipped with a 24 track recording studio.  The working title of the album that would become “London Town” was “Water Wings”!  The project was released in March of ’78 and “With a Little Luck” was the first single and continued McCartney’s string of big hits as the song went to #1.

The video is worth checking out, if only for the odd choice of having kids dancing in the background!  Paul McCartney & Wings with “With a Little Luck” is today’s Forgotten 45.
