On this windy and warm Friday we go back to this week in 1986 for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Stevie Nicks with “I Can’t Wait”.
While Fleetwood Mac was on a hiatus, Stevie recorded her third album “Rock A Little”. While the album did sell a million copies, it didn’t reach the level of success of her first two solo albums “Bella Donna” and “The Wild Heart”.
“Rock A Little” delivered two top 40 hits, the top 5 tune “Talk to Me”, and “I Can’t Wait” went to #16 on the charts. A couple of well-known songs were written with Stevie in mind for the project. “These Dreams” and “Don’t Come Around Here No More”, but of course Heart and Tom Petty ended up recording those hits.
