On this warm Monday afternoon, it’s time for another Forgotten 45 at 3:45. Tom Scholz the founder of Boston is celebrating his 78th birthday so from their Third Stage album it’s “Can’tcha Say You Believe in Me”.
The story of Boston is well known, Tom was an MIT trained engineer who built his own recording studio in his apartment while getting his masters degree. He used his training to create one of the most unique and successful sounding bands of the time. Starting with their incredible self-titled debut album in 1976, Boston has sold over 75 million albums and delivered legendary tunes like “More Than a Feeling”, “Long Time”, and “Peace of Mind”.
“Can’tcha Say You Believe In Me” was Boston’s final top 40 hit in 1987 from their “Third Stage” album, the song reached #20 on the charts. Happy Birthday to the super talented Tom Scholz, it’s Boston with today’s Forgotten 45.
