This Sunday morning at 8 on American Top 40 the 80’s Casey Kasem features the top hits from March 6th, 1982. It’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from The Police with “Spirits in the Material World”.
In October of 1981 the band released their “Ghost in the Machine” album and it was their first project that featured heavy keyboards and saxophone. Andy Summers wasn’t much of a fan of this direction, but there’s no question that it worked. The album was certified triple platinum and delivered the top 5 hit “Every Little Thing She Does is Magic” and “Spirits” was also a hit reaching #11 on the charts. Of course it was their next album and last album “Synchronicity” that became an all-time classic.
Take a trip back to the early 80’s for the Police with “Spirits in the Material World” today’s Forgotten 45.
