This Friday is Valentines Day so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we go back to the charts today in 1989 for a power ballad from Sheriff with “When I’m With You”.
The Canadian band actually released this song in Canada back in 1983, but the song didn’t become a hit in the states until 5 years later. In fact the song went #1 here four years after the band broke up! The song is also notable for having the longest held vocal note in a U.S. single at 19.3 seconds, recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records!
It’s also one of the few #1 hits of the 80’s not to have a promotional video! But I did find a performance of the song by Sheriff, “When I’m With You” is today’s Forgotten 45.
