Every Saturday night from 9 to midnight, 105.7 KOKZ throws a party with Absolutely 80’s with MTV’s Nina Blackwood!  This weekend her Total Recall Top 5 is from this week in 1986, and today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is one of the tunes you’ll hear, from Bruce Springsteen with “My Hometown”.

From the Summer of 1984 well into 1986, The Boss dominated with his best selling album, the classic “Born in the U.S.A.”.  The album sold over 30 million copies and delivered a then record 7  Top 10 hits!  Released in November of ’85 “My Hometown” became the last of the seven hits from the album, reaching #7 on the Hot 100 and #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, becoming the only Springsteen song to top that chart.

By the way the flip side of this 45?  “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town”, another classic!  Check out the live video of the Boss with “My Hometown” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
