Singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins is celebrating his 77th birthday today, so for our Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we’ll feature his last top 40 hit from the movie Caddyshack II it’s “Nobody’s Fool”.
The native of Washington state recorded 7 albums with Jim Messina before going solo in 1977. His first hit song was “Whenever I Call You Friend” with Stevie Nicks, followed up by “This is It” which was the theme song for the Final Four in 1980 featuring the Iowa Hawkeyes and Ronnie Lester.
This started a run of movie songs for Kenny, including “Footloose”, “Danger Zone” for Top Gun, and “I’m Alright” for Caddyshack. The director of the movie Jon Peters asked Kenny to come up for a song for Caddyshack II. Loggins was skeptical, but he delivered his final hit as “Nobody’s Fool” went to #8 on the charts in ’88.
