Friday’s Forgotten 45: Sheena Easton

By Jeff Winfield Jan 3, 2025 | 3:43 PM

This Sunday morning at 8 on American Top 40 the 80’s, Casey Kasem will count down the top 50 songs of 1985!  It’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Sheena Easton with “Strut”.

The singer from Scotland recorded 15 albums and had 20 top 40 hits in her career.  In fact, she was the first and only recording artist in Billboard history to have a top 5 hit on all of the main charts (Pop, Adult Contemporary, Country, R&B, and Dance).

“Strut” appears on her 5th album “A Private Heaven” released in 1984.  Sheena continued to move away from “middle of the road” songs and delivered a young, energetic performance that pushed the hit to #7 on the charts.

Sheena will be setting sail on the 70’s Rock & Romance Cruise to Cozumel in the middle of March.  Check out the video to “Strut” it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
