Happy Friday! As we get ready for the weekend, today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 takes us back to this week in 1983 for Duran Duran’s “Union of the Snake”.
Fresh off of the success of their “Rio” album, the band released their follow up “Seven and the Ragged Tiger” in the Fall of ’83. While the critics weren’t thrilled with the album, the hits kept on coming! The album sold over 2 million copies and delivered the hits “New Moon on Monday”, “The Reflex”, and “Union of the Snake” which was the first release from the LP. The song went to #3 on the charts and stayed there for three weeks, stuck behind “Say It Isn’t So” by Hall & Oates, and “Say Say Say” by Paul McCartney & Michael Jackson.
Earlier this year Duran Duran released a new album “Danse Macabre” and we’ll be wrapping up 2024 with a couple of shows in Las Vegas. Check out the video to “Union of the Snake” by Duran Duran it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
