For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, I found a song that was on the charts November 11th, 1989 from Tears For Fears it’s “Sowing the Seeds of Love”.
The English band founded by Curt Smith and Roland Orzabal released their debut album in 1983 and had some hits in the UK, but it was their second album “Songs From the Big Chair” that skyrocketed them to international fame. The album delivered their first three top 10 hits “Shout”, “Everybody Wants to Rule the World”, and “Head Over Heels”.
In the late Summer of 1989 they released their third album and the title track “Sowing the Seeds of Love” became the group’s final top ten hit, reaching #2 on the Hot 100. The song has a heavy Beatles influence and you can check out the video to today’s Forgotten 45, “Sowing the Seeds of Love” by Tears for Fears.
