Throwback Thursday Forgotten 45: Paul McCartney

By Jeff Winfield Nov 7, 2024 | 3:43 PM

This Sunday morning at 8 on American Top 40 the 80’s, Casey Kasem features the top songs from November 17th, 1984!  One of the great songs you’ll hear on the show is today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Paul McCartney with “No More Lonely Nights”.

The song was the only single from his soundtrack album “Give My Regards to Broad Street” which features several remakes of Paul’s songs with the Beatles and with Wings like “Yesterday” and “Silly Love Songs”.  While the soundtrack did fine, the movie did not.  In fact Roger Ebert gave the film one star!

The song was another top 10 hit for Paul with an assist from Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour on guitar, the song went to #6 on the Hot 100.  Check out the video of “No More Lonely Nights” from Sir Paul, it’s today’s Forgotten 45.
