105.7 KOKZ welcomes Styx & John Waite to the Alliant Energy Powerhouse tonight in Cedar Rapids! For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1982 for the first solo hit from John Waite “Change”.
The English singer was lead singer and bass player of The Babys (“Isn’t It Time” “Every Time I Think of You”). They broke up in 1980 and John released his first solo album “Ignition” in 1982 and the first single from the album “Change” didn’t hit the top 40, but it did make the Rock charts and received heavy video airplay on MTV. The song was also featured on the 1985 Vision Quest soundtrack and the song reached #54 on the Hot 100 that year.
