Friday’s Forgotten 45: INXS

By Jeff Winfield Oct 4, 2024 | 3:43 PM

The Friday Forgotten 45 at 3:45 was a song that was on the charts this week in 1990!  From INXS it’s “Suicide Blonde”.

The Aussie band had quite a successful run between 1982 and 1990 recording 9 Top 40 hits in the U.S. including their #1 hit “Need You Tonight”.  “Suicide Blonde” was the lead single from their 1990 album “X” and the song was another top 10 hit for the group, peaking at #9 in the States and #2 in Australia.

The song was written by Michael Hutchence and Andrew Farriss and the title came from a wig Michael’s then girlfriend Kylie Minogue was wearing to a movie premiere in 1989.

Since it’s a Funky Friday, this song has a funky beat, groovy harmonica, and it’s a perfect song to send you into the weekend, from INXS it’s “Suicide Blonde” today’s Forgotten 45.
