Monday’s Forgotten 45: Richard Marx

By Jeff Winfield Sep 16, 2024 | 3:43 PM

It’s another birthday edition of the Forgotten 45 at 3:45 as we say Happy Birthday to Richard Marx!  In celebration of his birthday we’ll play one of his #1 hits, from 1989 it’s “Satisfied”.

Richard started his music career at the age of 5!  Singing commercial jingles for his father’s advertising firm.  At age 17 while living in the suburbs of Chicago, one of his tapes found it’s way to Lionel Richie who told him he should move to Los Angeles.  It turned out to be a great move!

His debut album went triple-platinum and his follow-up “Repeat Offender” did even better selling 4 million copies delivering hits like “Right Here Waiting” and “Angelia”.  ‘Satisfied” was the debut single from the project and it went all the way to #1.
