TuNesDay Forgotten 45: Fleetwood Mac

By Jeff Winfield Sep 10, 2024 | 3:43 PM

Welcome to the TuNesDay Forgotten 45 at 3:45!  For today’s tune, we go back to the charts this week in 1982 for Fleetwood Mac and “Hold Me”.

The song was the first single from their 13th album “Mirage” released in the Summer of 1982.  Written by Christine McVie and Robbie Patton with shared vocals between Christine and Lindsey Buckingham, the song became the band’s first top 5 hit since their huge hits of 1977.  “Hold Me” peaked at #4 on the charts for 7 straight weeks!  Blocked from the top spot by “Eye of the Tiger”, “Abracadabra”, and “Hurts So Good”.

The memorable video was shot in the Mojave Desert and it was hot and shockingly the band couldn’t stand to be around each other.  A staple of rock and roll apparently!  The result was a great song and memorable video.  It’s Fleetwood Mac with “Hold Me” today’s Forgotten 45!
