Happy 65th Birthday to Simple Minds lead singer Jim Kerr!  For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 we go back to 1986 for the band’s final top 40 hit “All the Things She Said”.

Born on this date in 1959, Jim Kerr was the front man of Simple Minds, the most commercially successful Scottish band of the 80’s.  Formed in Glasgow in 1977, the group charted 24 times in the U.K., but only four times in the United States.  Their biggest hit was the #1 “Don’t You (Forget About Me), along with “Alive and Kicking” and “Sanctify Yourself”.

“All the Things She Said” was the bands final hit in America reaching #28 in 1986 from their “Once Upon a Time” album.  And if you ever played the Grand Theft Auto V video game, you might have heard this song on Los Santos Radio!

Happy Birthday Jim Kerr!  Check out Simple Minds with “All the Things She Said” today’s Forgotten 45.
