Over the weekend I did a lot of reminiscing. On Friday I found out an old friend from high school passed away after a long battle with cancer. Another mutual friend shared some photos on Facebook from our younger, carefree days. We were just a bunch of small town kids without a clue, waiting to be sent out into the world.
Andy was a member of the Class of 1984 along with my brother Tim. So for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, my pick is from that year, from the Icicle Works it’s “Birds Fly (Whisper to a Scream)”. The band was a one-hit wonder out of England which barely made the top 40 in 1984 with “Whisper to a Scream” that peaked at #37 on the charts. But like most music, it takes you back to a place and time instantly…and for me today it’s 1984.
