This Sunday morning on American Top 40 the 80’s, Casey Kasem features the tops songs from June 4th, 1983. It’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from INXS with “The One Thing”.
The Australian band formed in 1977 as the Farris Brothers, INXS had a few hits in Australia in the early 80’s but their 1982 album Shabooh Shoobah delivered their first American hit song with “The One Thing”. The song was a #2 rock hit and reached #30 on the pop charts, they went on to bigger success later in the decade with their album “Kick” which sold over 6 million albums and delivered their only #1 song “Need You Tonight”.
According to the RIAA, INXS is the third best selling Australian music act in the United States trailing only AC/DC and the Bee Gees! Check out INXS with “The One Thing” it’s today’s Forgotten 45!
