By Jeff Winfield May 6, 2024 | 3:43 PM

Happy 79th Birthday to rock and roll icon Bob Seger!  For today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we take you back to the very first hit from Bob, “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man”.

Released in the Fall of 1968 and recording under the name the Bob Seger System, “Ramblin” Gamblin’ Man” became the first of 20 Top 40 hits in a career that sold over 50 million albums, with a live band that is hailed as one of the best in concert.

The band lipsynced the song on a late 60’s show called “Happening” hosted by Paul Revere and I found an old video performance from that show.  It was the song that introduced the world to the voice of Bob Seger, “Ramblin’ Gamblin’ Man” today’s Forgotten 45!
