Throwback Thursday Forgotten 45: James Taylor

By Jeff Winfield Apr 25, 2024 | 3:43 PM

This Sunday morning at 8 on American Top 40 the 80’s, Casey Kasem is your host for the top songs from April 25th, 1981, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from James Taylor & J.D. Souther with “Her Town Too”.

The singer found his greatest success in the 70’s with classics like “Fire and Rain”, and “You’ve Got a Friend”, “Her Town Too” was his last and only top 40 hit in the 80’s reaching #11 on the charts.  Of course John David Souther is known for his 1979 hit “You’re Only Lonely” and as a co-writer of the some of the biggest Eagles hits like “Best of My Love”, “Heartache Tonight”, and “New Kid in Town”.

Check out James Taylor and J.D. Souther with “Her Town Too” today’s Forgotten 45.
