Every Saturday morning at 9, 105.7 KOKZ brings you classic American Top 40 the 70’s!  This weekend Casey Kasem features the top songs from July 30th, 1977, it’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from England Dan & John Ford Coley with “It’s Sad to Belong”.

The duo started out as friends in high school in Dallas, Texas where they played in cover bands and toured all over their home state.  Dan Seals is the younger brother of Jim Seals from Seals & Crofts who gave him the “England Dan” nickname because he was such a big fan of the Beatles and often spoke in an English accent.

They broke through with their big hit “I’d Really Love to See You Tonight” in 1976, that song went to #2, then they followed up with “Nights Are Forever”, then today’s Forgotten 45 which reached #21 in ’77.

I found a Midnight Special performance of “It’s Sad to Belong” by England Dan & John Ford Coley with today’s Forgotten 45!
