The biggest festival ever, Live Aid happened on this date in 1985. I remember the day well. It was a beautiful day in New Hope, MN. There was only 1 problem. The glare from the sun made it tough to see the tv. Once I closed the blinds, I watched every minute of it, I even got out a bright shiny new blank VHS, several actually, and taped the entire day.
I was looking most forward to the Led Zeppelin reunion. I hate to say, it was a little more than disappointing. Sound problems, just sloppy. Once Queen came onstage with that, now legendary set, I forgot all about the Zep reunion. They couldn’t have been better. Freddie had the entire crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. At just under 25 minutes, it’s become one of the most legendary live performances of the rock and roll era.
I thought I’d watch their amazing set, yet again and maybe you could join me. Hit Play!
