We just wrapped up a Doobie Brothers Weekend on 105.7 KOKZ, as we welcome their 50th Anniversary Tour to Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines on June 18th. It just so happens that on this date in 1979, their “Minute By Minute” album was certified platinum, so for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, we’ll play the title track from that album.
The album was their 8th and it spent 87 weeks on the Billboard Album charts. Featuring their #1 song “What a Fool Believes”, “Depending On You”, and “Minute By Minute”, the album went on to be certified triple-platinum for sales of over 3 million copies.
“Minute By Minute” went on to be a #14 hit for the band and the song was nominated for a Grammy Award for Song of the Year, but it lost….to their own song, “What a Fool Believes”!
