Mike & the Mechanics was an English supergroup formed by Mike Rutherford as a side project away from Genesis. Featuring the vocals of Paul Carrack (Ace & Squeeze), “Silent Running” was the first single from the band’s self-titled debut album.
Released in November of 1985, the song peaked at #6 in March of ’86 on the pop charts and was a #1 rock hit.
