Friday afternoon means the Absolutely 80’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45! It’s a song you can hear again Saturday night from 9 to midnight with Nina Blackwood, “Stay the Night” by Benjamin Orr.
The song was the debut and only top 40 hit for the Cars singer and bass player reaching #24 in early 1987. Of course he also sang lead on the Cars hit “Drive” and “Just What I Needed”.
Sadly, Benjamin Orr died from cancer at the age of 53 in Anchorage, Alaska. He was posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Cars in 2018.
Take a trip back to the 80’s with the video to “Stay the Night” today’s Forgotten 45.
