As we wrap up 2022, this Saturday morning from 8 to noon, Casey Kasem counts down #100 to #51 from the year 1977 on American Top 40 the 70’s. It’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Electric Light Orchestra with “Telephone Line”.
Jeff Lynne and ELO were way ahead of the game when it came to their sound. Using synthesizers they recreated the sound of a telephone for the hit, and some critics compared the song to a McCartney/Lennon type production.
“Telephone Line” reached the top 10 in the US and was a #1 hit in several countries and you can hear the song again Saturday morning!
