On this day 40 years ago Foreigner released their greatest hits album called “Records” which featured the hits from their first 4 albums. So it’s only right that I pick a song from this album for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, “Dirty White Boy” by Foreigner.
The band was riding a wave of success coming off of their Foreigner 4 album and this greatest hits package became their best selling album, selling over 7 million copies in the U.S.
“Dirty White Boy” was written by Lou Gramm and Mick Jones and Mick said the song was about Elvis and how he completely changed the music scene and went on to influence singers even up to this day. The song reached #12 on the charts back in 1979 and appears also on their “Head Games” album.
Check out the glorious hair on Lou Gramm with “Dirty White Boy” today’s Forgotten 45!
