As we head toward the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, we will still bring you classic American Top 40 this weekend.  On Saturday morning from 8 to noon, Casey features the top songs from November 24th, 1979.  It’s where I found today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 from Kenny Loggins with “This Is It”.

It was the lead single from Kenny’s ’79 album “Keep the Fire”. “This Is It” featured Michael McDonald on backing vocals and went to #11 on the charts. The song won a Grammy award for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance.

But in Iowa, “This Is It” will always mean the 1980 Iowa Hawkeyes trip to the Final Four in Indianapolis!  Just hearing this song makes me picture Greg Gumbel, Ronnie Lester, and Lute Olson.  Great memories!

Enjoy Kenny Loggins with today’s Forgotten 45.
