Happy TuNesDay and Happy 68th Birthday to Rickie Lee Jones, she has today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 with “Chuck E’s in Love”.
The song was a massive hit in 1979, reaching #4 on the charts and becoming her only big hit single. The song was based on a true story of her friend Chuck E. Weiss, who as the story goes, left for Denver and fell in love. He called back to L.A. and talked to her boyfriend Tom Waits. He hung up the phone and said “Chuck E’s in love.”
