Born on this date in 1948 in Milwaukee, Happy Birthday to Steve Miller who is celebrating his 79th trip around the sun today! I thought it would be only right to play one of their songs, so today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 is “Swingtown”.
Originally called the Steve Miller Blues Band, they got their start in the 60’s and had some minor successes, but really took off in the 70’s starting with “The Joker”, “Fly Like An Eagle”, “Rock N Me” and more, all staples of the KOKZ playlist!
“Swingtown” was a #17 hit for the band and was the third and final hit from their “Book of Dreams” album.
