Every Saturday night from 9 to Midnight, 105.7 KOKZ throws an 80’s party with Nina Blackwood’s Absolutely 80’s. A time when MTV ruled the world and the videos were mini-movies. Our Friday Forgotten comes from Duran Duran with “New Moon On Monday”.
MTV and Duran Duran were joined at the hip, both exploding in popularity around the same time, with the band’s “Hungry Like the Wolf” and “Rio” videos. This led to their “Seven and the Ragged Tiger” album which featured “Union of the Snake” and “The Reflex”. “New Moon on Monday” reached #10 on the US charts becoming their 5th top 10 hit.
