One of the busiest traffic spots in Iowa takes the next step to completion on Friday morning. On Friday morning if you are traveling southbound on I-380, the east bound exit to I-80 will be a half-mile earlier, as the last of the loop ramps close.
As anyone who has driven in that area, it’s always been a safety hazard, redesigning the intersection, which is in it’s 4th year of construction, was done to improve the situation.
The DOT expects some confusion with the new I-80 East exit now placed before the I-80 West exit. If you miss the exit, they recommend either taking I-80 West to Exit 237 or continue on 218 to Melrose to double back to I-80.
