Saturday night from 9 to midnight we turn 105.7 KOKZ over to MTV VJ Nina Blackwood for three hours of totally awesome tunes on Absolutely 80’s! It’s where I found the Friday Forgotten 45 from George Michael and “Monkey”.
One of the biggest stars of the decade “Monkey” became George’s 6th straight #1 song, including the 4th from his monster album “Faith”. He joined Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston as artists in 1987-88 who had at least 4 consecutive #1 songs.
The single version was produced by Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and the dance choreography was done by Paula Abdul.
