Happy Birthday to Walter Egan, the one-hit wonder is celebrating his 74th birthday today so for the Forgotten 45, we’ll feature his only Top 40 hit “Magnet and Steel”.
Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac produced Walter’s first album, but it was his second album “Not Shy” that brought us “Magnet and Steel” a song inspired by Stevie Nicks and ultimately reached #8 on the charts.
The song has been used in movies like Boogie Nights and Deuce Bigalo: Male Gigolo and you can hear it again Saturday morning on American Top 40 from 1978. Check out “Magnet and Steel” today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45!
