This Saturday morning from 9 until Noon, KOKZ brings you American Top 40 the 70’s as we go back 50 years for the countdown from July 8th, 1972. Within one segment of the show you’ll hear “Take It Easy” by the Eagles, “School’s Out” by Alice Cooper, “Layla” by Derek & the Dominoes…and Donny Osmond!
Today’s pick for the Forgotten 45 will lead off the countdown Saturday morning, “Hold Your Head Up” by Argent. It was the one hit for the English band, reaching #5 eventually in 1972. The recording of the song was done at the famous Abbey Road studios while Rod Argent was suffering from food poisoning.
Take a trip back to ’72 with Argent’s performance of “Hold Your Head Up” on the Midnight Special. It’s today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45.
