Today we remember Robert Moog who was born on this date in 1934.  Who was Robert Moog?  He was the pioneer of electronic music, an engineering physicist who invented the first commercial synthesizer known as the Moog synth!

The earliest use of the Moog in rock music occurred in the 60’s with The Monkees, Doors, and The Beatles.  But today’s Forgotten 45 was composed entirely with a Moog synthesizer, Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love”.

Moog himself was critical of the song saying the bass line sounded sterile and that Summer’s vocals were “fighting” the sequencer.  The song was a hit however becoming Donna’s 2nd top 10 hit reaching #6 in 1977.

Enjoy the Moog and Donna Summer with today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45!
