I gotta tell ya, TuNesDays are becoming my favorite days of the week. Another week, another topic. If you love music, it usually starts when you’re young. One of my greatest/worst memories was buying my first album with my very own money.
I saved for weeks, maybe months! Doing odd jobs around the house, mowing the lawn, etc… I needed Sgt Pepper by The Beatles! I finally got all my money saved up, just enough (I thought) to buy the record.
I walk into a store called, LaBelles in Minneapolis, went straight for the records and to The Beatles bin and picked out the Pepper! When I got to the counter, I gave the cashier all my money. Nickels, pennies, quarters, dollar bills etc… as soon as she finished counting the money she looked at me and said, your 2 cents short. “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO” I screamed! I was only 2 cents short! This, “human being” couldn’t be cool, and give me a couple of pennies.
Well, I Threw a tantrum right there at the counter, took my money and left.
There was, thankfully a happy ending. My mom gave me the 2 pennies and I went to a different place to give my business to.
You had some great stories…Let’s go to the video!
