We go back to May of 1981 for today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45 for a song by Jefferson Starship. The band that started as Jefferson Airplane rebranded as Jefferson Starship in 1975 and in 1979 vocalist Mickey Thomas joined and replaced Marty Balin.
“Find Your Way Back” was the 6th of 9 Top 40 hits for Jefferson Starship and reached #29 on the Hot 100 in ’81 but #3 on the Rock charts. The band shortened their name to Starship in the mid-80’s and had their first ever #1 songs with “We Built This City”, “Sara”, and “Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now”.
