It’s Theme Week on the Forgotten 45 at 3:45! This week I’ll feature Hollywood actors who hit the music charts. Today we go back to 1986 to Miami Vice star Don Johnson with “Heartbeat”.
Of course the actor, not to be confused with KOKZ’s Dawn Johnson (!!) is best known for playing Sonny Crockett on Miami Vice from 1984 to 1990. He also starred in Nash Bridges and has appeared in movies like Django Unchained and Knives Out.
“Heartbeat” reached #5 on the charts in the U.S. and was a big international hit as well. Rolling Stone magazine named him the Best New Vocalist of 1986, which doesn’t say a lot about the music that year!
