Saturday morning from 9 to noon Casey Kasem takes us back to May of 1974 for American Top 40 the 70’s. Riding in the car listening to AM radio in Spring of ’74 and you were likely to hear this song blasting in crystal clear mono sound, today’s Forgotten 45 is from the O’Jays!
“For the Love of Money” was a top ten hit for the group, one of 6 for them in the 70’s. The song has been used in several tv shows and movies like Hawaii Five-O, CSI, Friends, Sister Act 2, New Jack City and was the theme song of the NBC reality series The Apprentice.
Check out their performance of “For The Love of Money” on Soul Train.
