When I was 11 years old, I LOVED my K-Tel Music Express album! Captain & Tennile! Elton John! Ozark Mountain Daredevils! 10cc! Jigsaw! Seriously, I wore that copy out on my terrible record player. The album also featured today’s Forgotten 45 by Sammy Johns “Chevy Van”!
The song was a hit back in 1975 and reached #5 and can be heard again on American Top 40 the 70’s this Saturday morning from 9 until noon. Try as I might, I could not find a live performance of Sammy singing this song…so you can enjoy a quick look at Ktel instead!
