It was on this date in 2007 that U2 singer Bono received an honorary knighthood in Dublin, Ireland from British ambassador David Reddaway on behalf of Queen Elizabeth in recognition of his services to the music industry and for his humanitarian work.
Today’s Forgotten 45 was the 4th Top 10 hit from the band, “Mysterious Ways” was the second single from their Achtung Baby, the song reached #9 back in 1991.
A music video for the song was filmed in Morocco and incorporated distorted images of Bono and a belly dancer Morleigh Steinberg, who eventually married the Edge. Ahhhh, rock & roll! “Mysterious Ways” made its live debut on their Zoo TV Tour in 1992, when performances were accompanied by an on-stage belly dancer. The group has continued to perform the song on subsequent tours.
