A dreary day like today needs a spark and I found one with today’s Forgotten 45. On this date in 1979 Amii Stewart’s “Knock on Wood” was certified gold. The song was a worldwide smash hitting #1 on the soul and disco charts and of course the pop charts as well. And while the song went gold on this date, later that year it went platinum with sales over 1 million copies!
