I love 70’s music (looks like I picked a good place to work) and I really love 70’s country/rock like the early Eagles music and the band who brought us today’s Forgotten 45 at 3:45, Poco.
“Crazy Love” was their biggest hit record, reaching #17 on the pop charts in 1979 and was the #1 soft-rock song of that year came from the album “Legend” which also became their most successful album. The album cover was designed by the late Saturday Night Live star Phil Hartman.
Rusty Young, who passed away last year wrote the song and he said he was living in LA at the time looking out over the valley, and the chorus came into his head. He grabbed his guitar and 30 minutes later he had finished writing Poco’s biggest hit “Crazy Love”. You can hear the song again Saturday morning between 8 and Noon on American Top 40 on KOKZ.
