Today’s Forgotten 45 is from two-hit wonder Sugarloaf with “Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You” released in 1974 and peaking in the Winter of 1975 at #9.  Their first big hit was “Green Eyed Lady” back in 70.

The song uses a guitar melody from the Beatles “I Feel Fine” as well as Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition”. An imitation of Wolfman Jack by disc jockey Ken Griffin also is featured briefly; on radio station “Stereo 92”

“Don’t Call Us, We’ll Call You” was performed on the TV series, Midnight Special with with Wolfman Jack himself making an appearance.

You can hear the song again Saturday morning on American Top 40 from 1975 Saturday from 9 to noon.
