This Saturday’s American Top 40 the 70’s will be a 4 hour countdown from 8 to noon as Casey Kasem counts them down from this week in 1979. Today’s Forgotten 45 will be on the show, the Talking Heads and “Take Me To the River”.
The song was originally recorded by Al Green back in ’74 but was recorded by the Heads for their 2nd album “More Songs About Buildings and Food”. The song was recorded in the Bahamas with co-producer Brian Eno and reached #26 on the Billboard charts in ’79.
