Anita Baker – Caught Up In the Rapture
The amazing Anita Baker, following the success of “Sweet love” from her ‘Rapture’ album in 1985, released the second single that also became a hit!
“Caught Up In the Rapture” was a smooth, bluesy, R&B tune that just dripped romanticism and you could hear and feel it in her delivery. That’s part of the reason Baker was so good… She could really emote a song’s story and wrap you up in it with her.
The album hit #11 on the Billboard 200 album chart, won her two Grammys, and is arguably her best release.
“Caught Up In the Rapture” hit the Hot 100 and eventually stalled out at #37. Should have been, at least, Top 20!
