Jan Hammer – Miami Vice Theme

Jan Hammer came from the progressive pop/jazz group, The Mahavishnu Orchestra and went on to have a very interesting solo career.
His biggest and most well-known song comes from an iconic 80s pop culture TV show – Miami Vice!
The theme song, also known as “Crockett’s Theme” was a hard-hitting synth-instrumental with electric drums and synth-guitar that creates a fast-paced, energetic song that brings the excitement and drama of the show as a great intro to the episode every week!
Jan Hammer won Grammys for Best Instrumental Composition and Best Pop Instrumental Performance the following year. It toppped the Hot 100 chart and was the last instrumental song to hit the Top 10 until 2013!
